I Have My New Things!

Oh my god, technology and I just don't seem to agree but now I am back online with a new laptop and phone that, hopefully, will not break down on me.

I am sort of ready for 2015. The year kind of went by too fast for me to acknowledge everything that happened but I will get there.

Since it's already after Christmas, I don't really think I can get away with doing a Christmas post but I do want to share the fact that I got a 1985 Singer Model 28 for Christmas from literally the best-est friend in the whole world. It's fully functioning and it even had all the parts I needed for it to work. It took a bit of exploring on YouTube and Wikipedia to figure out how everything worked but I got there at around 1am last night... Yeah, time got away from me.

The thing weighs a ton so I keep it on the floor of my room just because I'm scared that if I leave it on my desk or on top of my cabinet, they will eventually give in and collapse under it.

And for those that don't know, I do have a very modern Singer Tradition (can't remember the number) machine as well which is very, very modern.

Apart from this thing, I do have other things that I desperately need to catch up on so even though I have my new things to play with, I still have a lot of work to do like school work and university preparation (interviews and all that) so I will definitely be back in the new year!

Have a great New Year's Eve and Day! That's all for now. Stay beautiful x

Technological Problems!

So my phone is dead and my laptop is halfway there. This, plus my school blocking access to anything "blogspot", means that, unfortunately, I am unable to post until next year when I plan on getting a new laptop.

The Blogger app isn't the best so I don't really like to use it since posting photos using that thing isn't easy.

Anyway, hopefully I am back for the new year but for now I have to say goodbye...

Merry Christmas and I hope you all have an amazing end to the year! I hope 2014 was an awesome year for you all and I can't wait to see what 2015 brings us!

That's all for now. Stay beautiful x

Trendy Tuesday: Being Interview Ready

This is mainly a post to benefit myself and others that are about to apply or have applied to university and have interviews on the way.

In many ways, the outfit you have to wear to interviews is similar to what you would wear to a job interview - smart, neat and clean. However, I personally think that the outfit you wear to a university interview shouldn't make you look older. Yes, at a job interview, you have to look mature and ready to work but at a university interview, they know how old you are! There's no point in trying to create this illusion.

This week, I am planning to buy an outfit or two for my interviews since my wardrobe really doesn't have clothes that are more suitabe for a more formal environment. My go-to decision, for now, is a smart black blazer on top of a playsuit.

romper + long blazer. One of my personal favorite combinations ^_^
I know it's not black in this photo but you get the point

It's a nice smart look but at the same time you show that you are 18 and you're "in with the times." Don't look outdated, especially if your course is related to the real world like Fashion, Media, Journalism etc.

I really like this look. It's grown up but still fun... Something professional/cute to wear to work or a job interview.

Now, before you make a decision about your outfit, it's important to know what the interviews are like and what to expect. Not all universities will tell you directly if it's a very formal interview or a more relaxed conversation. It's best to ask students and staff that are there when you're at an open day or to email the university. Not only does this make you better informed but it also shows them that you are really interested in the course and them too.

And don't forget to smile because...

Especially when you use Colgate Total MouthWash! I am sampling Colgate Total Mouthwash through for free.

That's all for now. Stay beautiful x

My Favourite Moments of November 2014

It's almost Christmas!!

November really did just fly by and I did forget to log this at the beginning of the month. So, here are my favourite moments of November (from what I can remember):

  • Starting my new temp job. It's been a whole year since I've had one so it's nice to be able to have an income again, even if it's only for a few months.
  • Playing my first (and possibly last) rugby game.
  • My birthday party!
  • Opening my presents the day after my birthday party because I'm an impatient person.
  • Getting 5 replies from the 5 universities that I applied to. None of those replies said "No".
  • Having dinner with my one and only at TGI Fridays. He didn't really eat much, making me look like a pig in front of him, but it was full of laughter and smiles all around. Plus, he was about 15-20 minutes late so the waiter kept me company. He was pretty cool.
This month, I met a lot of new people that are really awesome and nice to be with. It really was a social month for me and I hope that this continues until the end of the year. Working around people does make you realise that even just smiling at them can make their day! It's the season to be jolly so be jolly!!!

That's all for now. Stay beautiful x
