Trendy Thursday: Onesies

Onesies. Adult babygrows.

Onesies are very popular in fashion now. It's an odd concept, yes, but it's one that just seems to work. It's one of those trends that come to the fashion world, makes a big scene and then settles down.

nothing like opening presents in PJ's

The trend came about from a brand called OnePiece and I first came across onesies a few years ago at the Clothes Show. How? A lot of really hot people were wearing them... That's how you get attention. From a marketing point of view, that was a really good move.

Adult onesies: yes or no?

Anyway, pretty much all the major high street brands and some higher fashion brands have their own collection of onesies now and I don't think they'll go away any time soon. It's not because they're fashionable. They can be, but most people, in my opinion, have them because they're warm, comfortable and just a bit funny.

Pandaaa Onesie!

I have two onesies. One is from Primark, from one of my close friends, and it is a cat onesie; the other one I bought myself and it is white with bright pink hearts all over it from New Look.

Beneficial Apps

There's an app for pretty much anything and everything now and it's actually amazing what some people can think of. But just because something is an app and is available to you, it doesn't mean you should have it. I tend to clear my phone of apps every now and then just because I stop using them or I realise there's actually no real point in having them. However, there are apps out there that were made for a good reason and actually help you with your every day life.

For example, if you're on a diet and trying to lose weight, get a weight loss tracker! Being able to see your progress on a graph with a decreasing line is very encouraging. It's not easy to stick to a diet which makes people tend to rush through it. Being able to see your progress and control it is something that's worth doing.

I have two that I use now. The first one I installed a few days ago and the second one I've had since last summer.

If you are a guy, please skip the first one...

1. Period Tracker
I am one of those girls that still fails at being able to track my own body's processes... Having an app for this on my phone just makes me pay more attention to it since I spend half of my life staring at a phone screen. The one that I have is called "Period Calendar/Tracker" with a logo of a pink book with a flower on it. Once you install it, it changes its name to "My Calendar" so if someone else is snooping around your phone and you're a bit sensitive about things like this, they wouldn't know what it is if you make sure they don't open it.

2. Interval Trainer
An interval training app is so useful. Some apps come with a pre-planned work out and some have ones where you can customize and add your own. The work outs aren't long; they're just a way for you to get a burst of exercise everyday.

Apps for general social media are always recommended to people since it's important to stay connected in this technological world we live in. But, that doesn't mean you shouldn't stay connected with yourself. The Interval Trainer has stopped me from becoming a complete slob. My fitness isn't the greatest - fitness training after school today can prove that - but I'm pretty sure I'm a lot better off with it than without it. After a while, it develops into a habit and you're pretty much forced by your own mind to stand up and do something.

What I've Learnt Since Turning 18

It's almost been two months since my 18th birthday and I feel like the expectations that I had of becoming 18 were completely different from what being 18 is actually like.

Turning 18, in the UK, means that I can drink alcohol legally in public places but, as of yet, I haven't done that. I've been out to restaurants enough times to have the opportunity to but when it comes to drinks, I still prefer having a glass of lemonade. I haven't ordered an alcoholic drink anywhere... At TGI Fridays, when I was on a date with my boyfriend, I ordered an Oreo Milkshake. Yes, Pauline, you are a child. I did get a bottle of Smirnoff Ice for my birthday but that is pretty weak and I downed that quite quickly so it doesn't count.

The most important thing, I think, about turning 18 is that you should be able to drive by then. I don't even have a provisional license yet; I'm planning on getting one very soon (when I can afford it. I spent my money on a laptop but I've mentioned that already) but I don't actually think I'll start lessons until I'm at university. The main reason I need one is for proof of ID.

I thought that turning 18 would make me feel grown up, like I'd go through some kind of mental metamorphosis on my birthday and suddenly I'd know grown-up things. I honestly don't feel anything like that and it wasn't as big of a deal as I thought; an adult mind is something that I don't think I'll have any time soon. It does give you the realisation, however, that you're two year away from being in your 20's and that is something that I am not okay with. At all...

Trendy Thursday: Shirt Dresses

Shirt dresses make the neat and tidy look that comes with a regular shirt more fashionable and diverse. It's a great outfit for school, days out with friends and even a date (if the date isn't too fancy). You can also wear one any time of the year: a t-shirt dress with leggings, or jeans, and boots for the colder months; and lighter jeans or shorts with sandals or canvas shoes for the summer.

A shirt dress is ridiculously laid back for something that has been inspired by work apparel and will go with anything and everything.

Since I have so many gift cards from my birthday and Christmas last year, I decided to invest in one myself. I bought a khaki shirt dress from New Look last night and it arrived earlier today!

Officially Part Of The Pusheen Fanclub

For Christmas, my boyfriend bought me a book...

It's probably the best book that I've ever owned.

Background info:
So whenever I talk to people on Facebook, I use Pusheen as much as I can. Obviously it has to be at appropriate times or it would get more annoying that it has to be. I use Pusheen images mainly when I'm talking to my boyfriend because he joins in; and with my best friend because it infuriates him for some reason... Not a cat man.

Now that I have this book, I can use Pusheen on Snapchat and it's just doubly annoying to most people I know.

I strongly believe that Pusheen is me in cat form. My boyfriend read through it and agreed. "Read" meaning we looked at pictures with words below them, like the one above, and were both thinking "Yeah, that's Pauline."

I absolutely adore Pusheen. She is my spirit animal, my patronus, and I love it.

Trendy Thursday: That Green Parka

Okay, so I've decided that this thing will either be on a Tuesday or a Thursday (because they both start with "T"s, obviously) just because I have quite a lot of deadlines to meet and things to deal with. If I have options, it makes life a lot easier for me.

Now, army green parkas. They're everywhere and I'm pretty sure that every other person in the UK, at least, has one. I don't. My one said "navy blue" on the tag but it's arguably black. It's black.

You don't even have to add the word "green" in front of "parka" in searches....

I have a parka like this and I cant wait to wear it again $186.99 winter coat, canada goose, down jackets cheap coat

Seeing as they're "army green" I'd suspect that these were somehow influenced by the army or something. I don't know why they're this particular colour nor can I Google one...

All I know is that, in terms of coats, they're basically "the black" of this category. Anything goes with black within an outfit and anything looks pretty good with an army green parka on top of it.

Army chic - would like a new winter jacket like this

I don't have a green one because I don't like looking like other people. I know that there are loads of designs and styles out there of this one thing but, especially at school, when you just glance at people, at one point I saw a group of five friends who, I swear were all wearing the same one.

They are really fashionable, stylish and obviously they have to be warm. Parkas look good on everyone. I think that's how they're supposed to be.

Hello, 2015!

Right, so before I do any actual blog-y type things, I just want to say that guys, we're alive! We made it through 2014 which was actually quite scary with all of things that happened within it.

Anyway, this year, I don't think I'll stick to blogging as much just because it's not really a priority with me. There are more important things I need to deal with like making it through Year 13.

I'll still try and do things like Trendy Tuesday, though, because I actually like doing that. I'll also continue with the normal life posts that I do quite often. Coming up with title for those can be a bit annoying though so I might just have a fixed one like "My Life Story:..." or something like that. I think that's better than what I did before.

Also, now that I have a new laptop and a new phone, I've been doing pretty well with dealing with all of my social media accounts so if you don't follow me and you want to, my Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram name is "thatpurmonster."
